I quite like the sound of the newly announced Smashing Pumpkins Record Club (SPRC) which will release a wealth of the band's rarities and unheard material – and a lot of it will be for free.

In terms of guitar music, the Smashing Pumpkins have done some incredibly impressive stuff over years. The albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness especially really put the guitar through its paces as an instrument. Billy Corgan uses effects pedals extensively, and manages to get some incredible sounds. The band's sound is often very big, with a lot of multi layered guitar tracks and brilliant solos.
